A Wedding in Winston-Salem

Last Friday, we traveled down to the Winston-Salem area to watch our friends Arthur and Holly tie the knot. They were married at the Hanover Park Vineyard in Yadkinville, inside a barn-like structure that was just beautifully rustic and perfect.

During the rehearsal, I noticed the tables had been pre-set with thrifted china and then covered with plastic sheeting...pretty brilliant way to save yourself some time.

The venue has these beautiful chairs, which were really just perfect for the ceremony.

And the bride wore a short dress, a cause dear to my own heart! It was a beautiful wedding and a great party. I can't wait to spend more time with the happy couple!

I don't have any pictures of some other great wedding details, but here were some other cute ideas:

  • Holly's family made welcome bags, featuring all of the local delicacies. Winston-Salem happens to be home to several great delicacies, so our bags were filled with Cheerwine, Moravian cookies and Texas Pete hot sauce.
  • Holly made a brooch bouquet, including a watch brooch set to the time they were married. So romantic, and she'll keep it forever.
  • Instead of one cake, they had a cake display, featuring cakes made by family members and friends.
  • Instead of sparklers, they used glow sticks, which also made the party pretty banging, as you can see:
