Watercolor Mother's Day Gifts

It's more than a week later, but just for fun, I thought I'd share some snapshots I took of paintings I made for Mother's Day. The top one is a painting of a childhood picture of my mother's mother.

My mother-in-law requested a turtle and since she lived in Maryland for years, I thought she should get a terrapin. The first version looked like a gila monster with a shell, so this was as close as I was gonna get!

And the last one was sent to my grandmother. It's a David Austin rose that I seriously just dashed off...sometimes the prettiest are the easiest.

I'm DC-bound for a couple days so I (probably) won't be posting, but when I get back, hopefully I'll have fun stories to share!
